I’m not sure if this is right or wrong……But it’s sure, uh, well, different….Can you really muck around with something as classically wonderful and delightfully pure as Italian pizza and turn it into, well, a hot pocket type burrito thingy in an ice cream cone?
I mean, what would the Italians say?
Oh, what’s that? Yup. This cone shaped creation actually originated in Italy! It seems the concept of Pizza da Passeggio, walkaway pizza, started brewing 6 years ago with an little idea that has blossomed into a successful company in Italy.
Kono Pizza, which opened it’s doors for the first time in the northern Italian city of Bergam, have done extremely well with retails outlets in several countries.
So, will the success of the personal ‘take away’ mozzarella filled dough cone in Italy cause the quintessential, best selling and adored hotdog to look over it’s shoulder with fear and trepidation?
Maybe.

Fast forward to 2008…..
Good or bad, the first ‘pizza cone’ store, Kornet Pizza, has opened in America. Located in Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kansas good ‘ol’ US of A.
Let me know if it’s any good and if the sauce drips out through the bottom – just like an ice cream cone.

Oak Park Mall? That’s a nice mall. It’s nicer than some of the the other malls in Kansas, it has a Nordstrom. Maybe I’ll ask my cousin to try it out and give us a review of the pizza in a cone.
Yes – it is. I’ve actually been there too (should I admit that?? Smile.)……If your cousin tries this new delight let me know. I’m curious if it’s just fast food tasting or actually kinda yummy. The Italians seem pretty proud of it….
Hope you’re well!! Dish
I’m curious about the mouth burning factor.
